Our Story
During the pandemic, in the quiet of my New York City apartment, I discovered the magic of pure beeswax candles. Their clean, steady flame felt profoundly different. The clarity and comfort they brought were undeniable, and from then on, beeswax candles became my everyday staple.
When I returned home to India, I wanted to maintain that clean-burning ritual, but I quickly discovered a gap. Truly pure, locally-sourced beeswax candles were incredibly hard to find. It became clear that if I wanted to bring back that magic, I’d have to create it myself.
This necessity was the spark for Lumière Roots.
We sourced our first batches of beeswax and wild camphor— from remote, untouched regions.
The name, Lumière Roots (Light and Foundation), is a tribute to that journey: a commitment to illumination, purity, and returning to the foundational goodness of nature.
Our Candles
Each product is carefully curated with high-quality ingredients that are clean, non-toxic, and cruelty-free. Our candles are poured in the Himalayan region and are made using locally sourced pure beeswax and wild camphor.
The Aetheria collection is made from filtered beeswax-soy-coconut wax blend, premium fragrance oils, and lead-free cotton wicks.
We are a small business partnered with local honey farms to develop our products, ensuring that safety and quality standards are met. For our Aetheria collection, we maintain a fragrance load of 8-10% in each candle, an optimal level for filling your space with a luxury aromatic experience. Our fragrance oils are compliant with the standards of the International Fragrance Association (IFRA).
